A series of copper sculptures exploring two of the binaries of sculpture; volume and void, whilst also playing with the use of light and shadow and whose form is influenced by the work of Alexander Calder.

These sculptures explore questions of value following experince of conflict, poor leadership and waste. Spadge Hopkins has adapted the Nouveau Realiste aesthetic which favoured the use of everyday and discarded objects for poetic ends.
Syd
Spadge Hopkins was the lead creative for 'Coda' the permanent art memorial to Syd Barrett of Pink Floyd in The Cambridge Guildhall, unveiled in 2017. Inspired, he then created a series of sculptures depiciting some of his favourite rock 'icons' which often involve movement, projection, light and shadow.
